About NARGC Wildlife Education
NARGC Wildlife Education forms part of NARGC Óige, our wider youth and education initiative. Through engaging, age-appropriate activities, we aim to help young people understand Ireland’s wildlife, conservation and the responsible traditions of the countryside.
The Primary Schools Colouring Competition is one part of this growing programme. Other NARGC Óige activities include a Transition Year Introduction to Shooting Sports and dedicated NARGC Óige Days, where young people can learn about firearms safety, responsible participation in shooting sports, wildlife conservation and habitat management in a safe and supervised environment.
This is only the beginning. NARGC Óige will continue to develop new educational resources, events and practical opportunities that encourage young people to appreciate, understand and help protect Ireland’s countryside and wildlife.
Inspiring the Next Generation
Through education, practical experiences and engaging activities such as our colouring competition, we aim to help young people develop a lasting connection with Ireland’s countryside and wildlife. By encouraging curiosity and providing opportunities to learn about native species, habitats and conservation, we hope to inspire a new generation of responsible custodians who understand the importance of protecting Ireland’s unique biodiversity and preserving our natural heritage for the future.
